Poetry on the Porch

On a warm spring day in 2007 a group of friends met to savor the sound of words they'd been saving to say aloud. Encouraged and enriched by supportive listeners, for most it was their first public reading of work that was sometimes hidden for decades.

Through the generosity of each poet, pieces were contributed to an anthology of that day with limited print run for their personal distribution. Poetry on the Porch, Volume 1 is the first in what hopefully will be a series of many.

Surrounded by the inspiration of nature and literature, the artists of Tangerine Pond recorded a reading of Trudy Scott's first children's book
Spy Kats, Mission: Hospital and then celebrated
the launching of Trudy's series with a live performance for invited guests and fellow artists at the unparalleled retreat of ACA.

"Just a Moment" was a piece originally offered by K W Emert in March 2003 to Dialogue through Poetry, an annual poetic event promoting peace through dialogue, sponsored by the UN/UNESCO and co-ordinated by Poet Larry Jaffe. She has resurrected it for his new group Poets for Human Rights, which can also be accessed through our links on Tangerine Pond.

George Lacasse, Ted Tooney and Adrienne Harvey discuss the freedom of watercolor at a TPAC Painter's Workshop on June 20th, 2006.
Adrienne, a multi-media artist, e-mailed:
"It was very interesting to see that the same problems and difficulties happen with artists of all mediums."

George Lacasse Watercolor is the next gallery planned for TPAC. Look for it to open in July, 2006.
